The early Special Operations Forces alongside the fledgeling CIA during the Korean War operated on small islands and behind enemy lines.These forces were a part of the 8086th Army Unit. These elite troops directed North Korean partisans in raids, harassment of supply lines, and the rescue of downed pilots. Skilled in all facets of covert warfare, these early operators helped to build the doctrine for today's Army Special Forces.
