Having completed the COD: Modern Warfare 2 single player mode recently & since Ghost, Soap & Roach would probably have been 'bashed to death' by most, this bash is based off one of the TF141 operator NPCs in the Rio mission.
References are from a number of the re-spawning TF141 NPC characters (e.g. Poet, Gator or Peasant etc.) in the Rio Hornet's Nest mission. The re-spawns always comes with different loadouts so what i've done is to used parts i possessed while staying as close to the in game look/loadout as posible.
My take on a D-boy SCUD Hunter (starring 'Stuntman Mike') during the first Gulf War.
The real glory of those missions (in my opinion) went to the Brit. SAS whose exploits were more widely publicize and also mainly due to the legendary 'Bravo Two Zero' mission.
Again utilizing some dated 1/6 items, the bash could possibly even pass for a 'D-boy: Operation Eagle Claw' if the parts used were time relevant (are they? i'm not sure).
Anyway, the jeans might not be entirely accurate as most reference pics showed them in 6C-choc chic pants. Just my interpretation for a more rugged, unconventional look in accordance to the theme of the bash.
Some thots: at the fast pace where boxset/accessories are being release these days, would parts from old manufacturers of yesteryear still shine in kitbashes, would there still be a demand for them, could they still blend with new items in kitbashes?
I guess that's what i've attempted to do for this latest bash & perhaps the next few when & if i get round to them; by mix & matching the old & the new.
Granted that the themes might be rather limited if you're going to use some old items for bashes but on the other hand the benefit.... purely financial. It's forced me to look long & hard at my stash of loose items over the years that might have been forgotten & try to figure out a use for them. And another advantage: gets the creative juices flowing on kitbash ideas.... ideal for getting out of a kitbash dry spell/bottleneck.
