MiL is a new player in 1/6 gear, and is being distributed by Merit. This is the link to the other thread with all the info and great pics by Corrhttp://www.onesixthwarriors.com/forum/showthread.php?t=81980anJ.

I haven't bought the Dr. Figures version, but I have had a good look at it. It's basically a copy of the ACE version, but the details aren't as crisp, even if it does come with some more goodies. Molded in back plastic, that is a bit brittle. Soft plastic/vinyl mags. The Aimpoint with the extra large battery compartment is cool. Gripod and extended Gripod, silencer that can replace the front barrel section (although it's too small in diameter to be proper). The Surefire griplight. Typical of a Dr. Figures re-cast.

ackaing - The ACE while being the first out, only comes with the Navy SEAL Team 10 figure set. Nice packaging, but overkill if you just want the rifle. The TS is a great package, that allows you to see both sides of what you are getting, and has real great looking graphics. You get one rifle in one package. My favorite package for a weapons set yet, not just for the SCAR. The MiL version is your typical blister pack card, similar in style to older Dragon carded sets. Very Clean, and looks good. You get two rifles on the card, one black and one tan.

Colouring - Easily the most noticable differenc between the versions. Whie the ACE looks funny with the two-tone receiver, I have seen 1/1 refs with this type colour application. The TS in solid tan is another vesion in 1/1, and looks very good also. The MiL version is two-tone as well, but the colours are reverse of the ACE version, and I have yet to see a 1/1 with this colour version. Looks good, but not nesecarily accurate. You also get an all black MiL version as well. Two in one package

Moving Bits - All three versions have extending stocks, cheek pads that pivot, removable mags, folding stocks, folding forward sights.

Only the MiL and TS versions have folding rear Back Up Iron Sights (BUIS). The ACE is in the up position only. The forward sight on the ACE is floppy and loose. The ACE and MiL have the propper shape on the forward sight. All three rear BUIS have good detail and are very similar with only slight differences. the ACE an TS are almost exact, and more accurate, and the MiL is a bit different.

The folding stocks: ACE doesn't fold parallel to the receiver. TS does. MiL keep coming off the pins. The prototype MiL at the Merit booth was more sturdy at the hinge, and folded right along side the receiver, but not so on these production versions. The stock falls off when folded past about 45 degrees of fold. It's because the hinge has small nubs and detents and is pressed together. It could be fixed with a pin down through the hinge, which is what I'll do to mine. There are numbers on the 1/1 to indicate the postion of the extendable rear stock. ACE does not have them. MiL goes to 3 only. TS goes up to 6, which is the correct number, but the numbers are too big and look squished together. The back pad is the same on ACE and MiL, but checkered on the TS. I Think the TS may actually be closer, but have yet to see a close-up of 1/1 to be sure. The tab that holds the ACE stock in position is small an EASILY broken. TS has no such tab. MiL has a tab, and you should press in where the button is (just like 1/1) and it should release the tab and you can fold the stock. You run the risk of breaking the tab like the ACE version if you don't do this. Neat feature on the MiL that was shown by the Merit rep.

The Barrels - The ACE and TS versions both have the option of having the CQB, and long barrel versions. Just change the section of barrel out on the ACE and re-attach the flash supressor. On the TS it's the whole front end from the front sight forward, long and short versions. Both work good. MiL only comes with the long barrel version. You could make the CQB version by cutting the barrel, and re-attaching the flash supressor, but there would be gluing involved. All three have the older M4 style flash supressor, not the newer proprietary version. The MiL one is glued on, and one was at a funny angle.

Accessories - All three come with the ACOG scope, but each is different. ACE is molded in black and is their typical good offering. TS is molded in tan and is their typical offering. MiL rules the bunch. This is the nicest ACOG released to date. It has the small reticle on the top, and you can actualy see through it (I don't know what it's called). It's small, gorgeous, and functional. There is even micro print on it and on the ACOG scope itself. Like I said, it's the nicest one out right now.

ACE comes with 6 Tan mags, TS one Tan mag, MiL 4 tan and metal painted mags for 2 SCARs. The MiL magazines are accurate to the ref pics I have seen with bare metal at the tops of the mags, and tan paint at the bottom. The ACE version has M4 style mags, and MiL and TS have the FNH SCAR mags. In 1/1 they are supposed to interchange.

ACE has a bunch sling. TS comes with a strap style sling. While the MiL versions didn't have them in the package, they are being shipped to all who bought them at the show because they weren't ready for the sets that were sold (same goes for the charging handle as well).

ACE, TS, and MiL all have forward grips. ACE has the Gripod that slides on to the rail. TS has the smaller M4 style as seen with early sets. MiL has a new model with a flip lever attach, but the molding is soft, and there is no texture to the grip. It's quite big too.

Grenade launcher; Only the MiL version has this right now. And it's a work of art. It slides on to the rail under the barrel. Opens straight out, and can pivot to either side to fit in one of the three 40mm grenades. The 40mm grenades are not as good as BBI, DML, or HT, but will pass. It's a paint issue. If the soon-to-be-released HT is as good as this, it will be awesome as well.

TS has the Dual Beam Aiming Laser (DBAL) with a remote switch and decals, and a spiffy new Surefire light (like the PMC babe issue). The MiL also has a new type of DBAL. It's feaking amazing as well. The lens covers flip open. There is flip up grenade launcher sight on top. I don't know if this is based on an actual DBAL, but it looks amazing. No extra lasers for the ACE.

Fine details - The ACE and TS versions are solid molded, whie the MiL is a split half mold. This allows the vents at the front on the MiL to be molded open. Disadvantage to this? When the scope and acessories are pushed into the rails, the pins on the accessories open the halves of the upper receiver. Fix this by adding a dab of super glue to the receiver, and drilling open the holes for the pins.

The Rails; ACE and MiL look nicest, while the TS seems a bit low to be accurate. ACE has no holes in the upper rail for the ACOG. Drill the rail or knock off the pins on the ACOG and glue it.

Micro printing, and small engraving on the ACE is non-existant. Great on the TS and MiL versions.

RICE - ACE has to be bought loose and being the first out, it's prices were BIG. Average was about $25 - $30 for a complete set with all the bits. That has tamed a bit, but not much. TS is about $12-$15 ish depending on where you buy it. The MiL carded set was $25 at the Merit booth, at AWOH, but I expect those will be selling again, once the sets are complete with all the bits from the manufacturers.

Final Opinions - While the newest MiL offering is a sweet addition to the ranks of the FNH SCAR-L, it is not perfect. It is however My new favorite. It is the most accurate version to 1/1 references. The new ACOG, DBAL, and Grenade launcher really set this one apart from it's predecessors. The MiL was supposed to be released about the same time as the TS according to the fine gentleman at the Merit booth at AWOH, but manufacturing issues have delayed it's release. That's why there was no sling and charging handle as well. The TS and ACE both come in pretty close together as far as details and options. ACE has some things that TS doesn't have, and vise versa. TS may actually be ahead in some peoples eyes.

ALL three versions have nit picking items that make none of them perfect. But if you have to pick which has less imperfections, and which has better than the average details and accessories, the MiL version is the way to go.
