Despite its failure in Europe, the US M3 37mm anti-tank gun proved its worth in the Pacific theater.

As early as Guadalcanal the 37mm was pressed into service and it rained death down onto Japanese tankers, bunkers and Banzai charges.

Marines depicted here are mowing down suicidal Japanese troops with canister shot. 122 steel balls per shot did devastating damage on the enemy and broke many a Banzai charge.
