The Sherman tank saw widespread Allied use in WWII, but its original 75mm gun was woefully inadequate for taking on heavily armored German tanks like the Panther and Tiger. With remarkable foresight the British had decided to fit a 17pdr anti-tank gun, able to penetrate a Tiger I’s frontal armor at 1,000m, to the Sherman. Thus the British Firefly was born, with approximately 2,200 eventually produced. Most Fireflies were adapted from the M4A4 and were known as the Firefly VC (‘C’ denoting the 17pdr gun), while a smaller number were converted from the older M4 type and were called the Firefly IC.
Dragon is proud to announce its first-ever Sherman Mk.IC Firefly plastic kit in enormous 1/6 scale, and it perfectly complements a couple of other Sherman variants produced in this size. Brand new for this Firefly is the upper hull, the cast one-piece differential housing unique to the Hybrid type, the mantlet and the 17pdr gun barrel. The characteristic stowage box (which housed the radio equipment displaced by fitting the larger gun) is also present on the rear of the turret. The 1/6 scale is ideal for including every little detail, while the cast texture of the hull and turret are accurately depicted too. This model kit perfectly captures the characteristic look of this Sherman variant. Indeed, this Firefly IC is more than ready to take on its German counterparts in any duel!

●Sherman·HybirdMk.ⅠC
从1943年8月到1944年2月由美国克莱斯勒公司生产的M4亚改型。复合型车体前部为铸造装甲，后部为焊接钢装甲。车体侧面焊有附加装甲，特征是车体前部下方采用了新型的铸造变速箱装甲，倾斜度更大。车体前部装甲厚63mm(倾角47˙)大型侧向斜开式乘员进出舱盖。采用400马力R975C-1型或460马力R975C-4型引擎。公路最大速度38.6km/小时，战斗重量30.2吨。基本上所有的车型都采用了后期型的VVSS悬挂系统。
●ShermanMk.ⅠC
1943年后期生产的标准的焊接式M4车体，全车侧面焊有附加装甲（部分车辆除外）。新型的车体下部铸造装甲。引擎，车体重量同Hybird型。
●ShermanMk.ⅡC
普莱斯特钢铁·汽车公司制造的M4A1的一部分也改造成「萤火虫」。铸造式车体两侧焊有附加装甲，车体前部装甲倾角47˙，大型乘员进出舱盖。其他同Hybird型。
●ShermanMk.ⅤC
1943年由「克莱斯勒」公司生产的M4A4车体。是「萤火虫」的主要量产型。后期改造型强化了车体装甲，延长的车体换装了克莱斯勒公司生产的425马力A57引擎，公路最大速度40km/小时，战斗重量32.3吨。
●USFirefly
在1944年初，至少有一座「萤火虫」炮塔被送往美国，在安装于后期型M4A3（76）W的车体上供测试用。得出的结论是：英国的17磅炮性能优于美制76mm炮及90mm炮。但本车未投入生产。
